Garry is a former television actor, who has appeared in programmes such as “Children’s Ward”, “And the Beat Goes On” and “Fat Friends”. Having “retired” from acting, he became a documentary editor and has worked on numerous BAFTA, EMMY, GRIERSON and RTS winning documentaries. He is now pursuing a directing career. His first short film “Bobby” featured at the Mumbai International Short Film Festival, Short of the Year Festival and the London International Short Film Festival. Sir Nicholas Hytner described it as “a powerful piece of film”. “The Fox and the Rabbit” is Garry’s second short film.

“The Fox and The Rabbit” is certainly not an autobiographical film. It is the product of observations of relationships that I have made over the years; my fascination with the father-son dynamic and my love of the traditional British suit (probably stemming from my frustration at the rare opportunities that I get to wear one).

It is undoubtedly a dark film, albeit comedic in places, but one that I hope will provoke discussion as to whether Philip Larkin was right- “they fuck you up, your mum and dad”.
